Party Platform on Thursday
All Democrats and Republicans will meet to present and discuss the 16 bills each party has so far. Democrats will meet in the Andromeda suite and Republicans will meet in the Orion Suite.
What to bring?
- Each group should be prepared to explain their problem, solution, and party perspective on their bill. In addition to that, be prepared to answer questions (points of information and inquiry) about your bill from your party. No time minimums. This is NOT the 3-minute speech Ortega is having you do. Ortega is having you work on a 3-minute speech for day 2 of the Model Assembly.
- Robert Rules of Order handouts from Ogden
- What speech do I need for the party platform? Your group needs to present the problem, solution, and party perspective. There are no time minimums or maximums for this speech.
- What do I do with the party platform speech after Thursday? You will revise it and make it a 1:00 minute speech for day 1 of the Model Assembly.
- What speech am I working on in Ortega's class? You are working on the 3 minute structure debate speech, which is used on day 2 of the Model Assembly (and day 4 if the speech is still useful by then).
How is each person being assessed?
