Core Assigment: Campaign Problem Robocall

BIG IDEA:

Robocall is automated phone call that uses both a computerized autodialer and a computer-delivered pre-recorded message.  

It is used in telemarketing, politics, and for public service announcements or emergency information.

The laws in California states:
  • Must have an existing relationship with the person
  • Live person must come on first to tell you the nature of the call and the organization behind it
  • Call must be disconnected immediately if the person hangs up or the message is done

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Review the Big Idea, Instructions, Roles, Rule of 3, and decide if you have questions.

3.  Review the biography of your candidate. 
4.  Write a script of the robocall in all notebooks.   The robocall should include who the candidate is, how they stand on an issue, and encourage turning out to vote.  The election is next Tuesday. 
5.  Reporter acts out your robocall to the class (with the help of others if needed).

ROLES:
  •  Facilitator (ABC by first name person):  Makes sure group does the assignment and keeps the group focused on the purpose. 
  • Harmonizer (Whoever is left): Gets consensus on what is going to be in the robocall. 
  • Resource Manager (Youngest person):  Keeps group focused on the rule of 3 
  • Reporter (Oldest person):  Leads presentation of the robocall to the class.

RULE OF THREE:
·      Does your robocall include who the candidate is and how they stand on one issue
·      Does your robocall encourage votes to get out to the polls
·      Did you all play your roles as expected?
