Big Idea:
This year, I
have hoped you would explore the role of citizenship in our democracy inside
the classroom and outside of it. The
course EQ is:
What is the
most important role of citizenship in our democracy?
Role: Like an actor playing a part
in a play.
Citizenship: Way of acting, behavioral
Democracy: Review the XLANDIA PBL
Instructions:
1. Write an essay answering the course EQ.
2. Essay should include:

Thesis
statement (aka the best answer)
·
Introduction,
Body, Conclusion
·
Introduction
should define the EQ and specifically show understanding of citizenship and
democracy
·
The introduction should also include your thesis statement.
·
The
body should support your thesis.
·
The
conclusion should summarize the essential point, provide the most important
assignment and why, and describe the product of your experience in my
course.
3. You should reference in your essay a minimum
of five assignments from two different challenges. Each pentagon is closure to each
challenge. We have completed three
challenges. You can reference Core
PBLs, senior project, or senior class activities.
4. Essay should:

Be
written well
·
Be
reviewed for spelling and grammar issues
·
Show
that it has been well thought out and five paragraphs minimum.
5. Essay will be submitted to turnitin.com by
the end of class.
Please
note. You can’t write the essay prior to
the class day. You are welcome to write
outlines, but not the essay. If there is
evidence you wrote the essay prior, you will earn a zero on the final.
