Grad Night

“With peaks of joy and valleys of heartache, life is a roller coaster ride, the rise and fall of which defines our journey. It is both scary and exciting at the same time.”

If you are going to Grad Nite tomorrow, please be on-time at iPoly by 6:30 PM. Don't be late, be early.  I will leave you.   If you are not going to Grad Nite tomorrow, go to school by 8AM.   If you are in West House and not going to Grad Nite check in with Mrs. Ortega tomorrow.

6/10-6/11 Agenda

"Every person is responsible for all the good within the scope of his or her abilities, and for no more, and none can tell whose sphere is largest."

1.  What is the plan tomorrow?   Go to house.  You will be watching a the final 2-hour presentations in house.  We will then switch gears for graduation practice.  Please review the graduation blogs.

2.   Wednesday is the Product Presentation.  This is a significant component in the senior project.  It is important to take it seriously and do your best.   "Every end is a new beginning."  My suggestion is to end well.   The best of the best do their best at all times.

3.   You don't need to be officially set up till 3:30 PM on Wednesday.  But you must be on campus by 3:00 PM.  Check in with your house teacher at 3:00 PM.

4.  Pay for Grad Night and bring the permission slip.   All $ and permission slips go to Purther.

Thanks!

Graduation Information: Important Please Read

2013 Leaf for the MPR Giving Tree
This is the seating chart for the graduation.  Please review prior to graduation practice.   Click here.

Lucas will be the first to graduate and Perla will be the last.

If this makes any sense, when we have you line up for graduation, we will have you make 2 lines.  In the left line, Deanna will be the first in line and Amanda K will be last in line.  In the right line, Perla will be first in line and Lucas will be last in line.

Do you need parking passes for graduation?  They are $5 from Stacy.  If you wait till day of Graduation, Cal Poly will charge you $10.

Schedule: Grad Night Thursday (6/13) and Senior Breakfast Friday (6/14) Important Please Read

Thursday

*Please make sure you get your permission slip from your house teacher on Monday.  It is due to Purther.

If you are going to Grad Night, we are leaving iPoly at 7PM.  That means you will need to be there at 6:30 PM to check in and get your ticket.  You do not need to go to school during the day.

If you are not going to Grad Night, you will need to come to school like it is a regular school day.  Report to your House teacher.

*Reminder:  Last day to pay for Grad Night is Wednesday at 3PM.   It is $71 for W, N and S and $57 for E.

Friday

Everybody should be going to senior breakfast.  We have already fundraised as a class for it.  If you are not going to Grad Night, I would show up at 7:15 for senior breakfast.

Schedule: Product Presentation Wednesday 6/12 Important Please Read

You are required to check in with your house teacher by 3:00 PM.   You will then need to be set up and ready to go for senior team assessment by 3:30 PM.  This is a minor change. I told you in class to be set up and ready by 3:00 PM.  But, we changed this because some of you will set up outside and some of you will be set up in the MPR.  We didn't want your set up to be in the way of the 9th graders leaving their classrooms at 3:00 PM.

So once again, check in by 3:00 PM and be prepared for senior team assessment by 3:30PM.

Schedule:
  • 3:30 PM-5:00 PM: Presentation to the senior team
  • 5:00-5:45PM:   Dinner
  • 5:45-7:50PM:  Presentation to your guests and alumni
  • 7:50-8:00PM:  Clean up
Note: If you are outside, you will be sharing with a partner 3 student desks.  If you are setting up in the MPR you will be sharing one table with a partner.

*Do not worry about the "portfolio" reference on the contract.  You don't need to have your research folder.   It is up to you to show the evidence of your product.

Important Message From the Office about Transcripts

To all Seniors:

Final transcripts are being sent out electronically this year to all of your colleges via a new service known as Parchment.  You should receive an instruction email today in your "turn-it-in" email providing you instructions directly from parchment on how to order these transcripts.

Remember, NO transcript will be sent to your school unless you:

1)  Complete the registration with parchment and provide them with the college/military/site address for electronic submissions.
2)  Pay all of your bills, return all materials and books to iPoly staff and receive a signed form from your house teacher.

Best of luck to you in the coming days before graduation!  See you on the 17th (Graduation Day) and the 18th
( to pick up your diplomas).

Ms Hunzeker
