Day 1 is the first official day of Model Assembly. It is Friday, December 14th from 8AM to 10:26 AM. It is in committee. Day 1 is divided into three parts. The day starts by determining the chairs.
(1) Officially introducing all bills. To do this, each person in the committee must give a 45 second to 1-minute speech. You are officially introducing your bill, so each group can present the problem, solution, and party stance. If you have a fourth person in your group, you also need to give a 45 second to 1-minute speech.
(2) After each student speaks for 45 second to 1-minute, we will split into committee party caucus and each party in the committee will investigate all bills being introduced in the committee.
(3) The chairs then will prepare their party members for day 2 the Committee Hearing. To do this, each chair will assign a 3-minute and 1-minute pro speech for each of their own bills and a 3-minute and 1-minute con speech for bills from the other party.
The day ends with the chairs working out the agenda for day 2 the Committee Hearing.
